Ratios
L&F recommends a ratio of 8 students to 1 teacher/leader. For example, a group of 24 students would have 3 teacher/leaders. Some groups travel with a ratio of 10:1, others with a ratio of 6:1.
If a group has fewer than 8 students, the pricing can be pro-rated, or you can encourage them to travel with another Language & Friendship group. More information for individual students.
The student/teacher ratio is a factor in the final price.
Group Size
Transportation and hotel cost is generally lower for larger groups. However, many teachers prefer to travel with only their own students. We recommend a minimum of 10 people for groups to travel alone in order to benefit from group airfare and train rates.
We can arrange custom programs for groups smaller than 10 if you prefer. Generally, programs for small groups are more expensive but can be kept reasonable with simpler itineraries and public transportation. If your group is small but you prefer private motor coach travel, you will want to consider travel with another group or travel on a fixed-itinerary program.
