Leader Guidebook: 100+ pages jam-packed with meeting ideas and checklists, recommended handouts, group management and group dynamics tips, preparation help, itinerary ideas, and more—all to assist leaders both in preparation of students, as well as in leading them during their program abroad. The Suggested Meeting Plan is a valuable time-saver, especially for new teachers.
“I found the guidebooks and suggested meeting plan extremely helpful for me and my students.” French Teacher, Norwalk IA
Leader Workshop: Held in Bloomington, MN, the last weekend of January each year, this workshop is designed to bring together new and experienced teachers to provide a forum for ideas about traveling with students. L&F staff, joined by several veteran teachers, present information and suggestions to help you as you prepare for your program abroad. Evaluations describe the workshop as energizing and renewing!
| It was great to meet the L&F staff and get to know other
teachers. I think attending the workshop is a key element to having a
successful trip with students. French Teacher, Kansas City MO |
Study Materials: Educational material in the target language covering topics such as architecture, art, sports, schools, transportation, restaurants, money, family life, vocabulary, dialogues, and interactive activities and links. Some leaders use these materials as part of their curriculum. They are written exclusively for Language & Friendship and available on CD.
| I love the study materials CD –
particularly the interactive parts and information about history, economy,
daily life and the family stay. All students can benefit from these. French Teacher, Rapid City SD |
