Cancellation Due to Medical Emergency

In Case of Medical Emergencies
L&F’s normal cancellation policy applies up until the date when the amount on L&Fs Cancellation Fees schedule is “To be determined.” After this date, a claim may be made if a medical emergency precludes a fully-paid participant from traveling; i.e., a serious illness (not including pre-existing conditions) or death of the participant or immediate family member (parent, sibling, grandparent). A signed physician’s statement is required.

If a valid medical emergency claim is filed after the “To be determined" date, L&F will refund, less a fee of $400, any recoverable costs and a portion of unrecoverable costs as follows:

  • if before the balance due date, up to $500;
  • if after the balance due date and the participant has paid in full, up to $1000.

Written notice of cancellation to Language & Friendship by participant or parent is required. Notice must be mailed, faxed or e-mailed to L&F office.

See Cancellation Policy for more information.
