How To Apply

L&F works with local language teachers and personal friends to find families who are willing to open their hearts and homes to a visiting student or teacher.

Application process for families wishing to host:

Step 1: APPLICATION
Fill out the application form completely. This is available in hard copy from your local language teacher or can be requested from our office. An electronic form is  available for those who prefer to fill it out electronically.

Turn in the application form to your language teacher. If you are not working with a local teacher, you may send it directly to the L&F office. Check the Dates & Locations link to see if a group will be arriving in your area.

Step 2: REFERENCE CHECKS & HOME VISIT
Once your application is received, your references will be contacted and a home visit will be arranged. The purpose of the home visit is to meet in person to go over any questions that your family might have about hosting. It is also a chance for us to confirm that the student will be in a safe environment and to verify that they will have a bed to sleep in during their stay. Note: Home visits are waived for some spring programs.
